PATHFINDERS TREKS MOROCCO
SUSTAINABLE TOURISM IN MOROCCO
We organize Hiking Holidays in Morocco High Atlas Mountains emphasizing a community-friendly approach. Our Atlas trekking options include Mount Toubkal ascent, walking the High Atlas valleys, and treks through Berber villages revealing the breathtaking quiet beauty of adjacent valleys. Our activities rely on the knowledge, strong limbs and hospitality of the Berber people, who work as local guides, muleteers and accommodation providers. We believe they are the people who can tell the most about their culture, traditions and way of life to make the whole trekking experience unique and authentic. As organizers of this community-friendly trekking, we create job opportunities for the locals as well as raise money for community projects.
Our aim is to create an alternative narrative, which will connect internationals and locals in a way that will lead to mutual enrichment. Being a PathFinder is an adventure, which uses one’s capacity to think differently, acknowledge the diversity of human beings, experience a different way of living and contribute towards making the world a better place for everyone. Joining this project, you will also become a stone in a new path of local development.
Every one of us can use creativity and potential to establish new patterns of thinking that lead to a better understanding of the world surrounding us. Every one of us can be a PathFinder.
The Atlas Mountains rise from the Atlantic Ocean and stretch all the way to the Moroccan Algerian border. At its highest point is Mount Toubkal at 4167metres: a popular trekking peak most of the year round. These mountain ranges dominate the skyline across much of the central parts of the country, while to the south, the Saghro; rising out of the rocky desert, is the birthplace of some of the oldest tribes of Imazhigen people: the indigenous inhabitants of Morocco; the Ait Atta nomadic tribes.
Morocco is for all lovers of the outdoors, for anyone who would like to experience the spectacular diversity that the mountains and valleys offer the adventurer.
Our treks and hikes are from 1 day to 2 or even 3 weeks for the die-hards.
Morocco Tours and treks are for all seasons, for all levels, for groups, families, couples, individuals, team-building, charity events, scout troops and serious expedition groups.
While you will find many options in our pages, there are others; we are happy to customize your trek according to your requirements.
We also invite you to discover the Southern part of Morocco, which is the Sahara Desert. We offer camel trekking with all the magic of the Sahara. You will have the opportunity to visit the most spectacular kasbahs of Morocco, see vast sand dunes and lush fertile oasis. The huge vistas, solitude and silence of the desert create mysterious powers which will calm the human soul. You will never forget the nights spent under nomadic tents, sharing music and stories with the local guides and watching the night sky illuminated with an incredible vista of stars.
is an Amazigh guide I work with from one of the small villages in Imlil valley. Passionate about his environment and dedicated to sharing his love of the region, he is adventurous, knowledgeable and friendly.
I’m experienced, proficient guide and I have worked with several companies from all over the world before setting up Pathfinderstreks. I became the first person to walk from the roof of North Africa, Mount Toubkal at 4167m, to its floor – the Atlantic Ocean. We offer challenging treks for athletic adults where the beauty and peace of the mountains can be enjoyed. Find out more
